We are honored to present the Western Massachusetts premiere of THE PERFECT FAMILY and to present prominent community lesbian/gay leaders as our guest speakers to inspire LGBT youth.

THE PERFECT FAMILY is a funny, entertaining comedy that offers a wonderful story of love, family, and acceptance. Everyone, both young and older, LGBT and straight, will be able to relate to this film and enjoy the story.

Our After Party will fill the dance floor at Diva's with 300 Out! For Reel guests for a wonderful night of music by DJ Lori B, free catered hors d'oeuvres, and free billards until 11 pm. Plus you will receive a free pass to make a return visit to Diva's. Sweet! Don't miss this special night at Diva's!

“The Perfect Family” is a funny, heartwarming comedy about a devout Catholic woman, Eileen, (Kathleen Turner) who wants to win the coveted Catholic woman of the year award but she will have to lie about her family to the bishop to make them “perfect” in the eyes of the church. Her daughter is an out pregnant lesbian (Emily Deschanel) who is about to marry her life partner (Angelique Cabral) and her son (Jason Ritter) wants a divorce and is having an affair. Will Eileen alienate and forsake her entire family just to win the award? Her struggle between her faith and the love for her family is both poignant and maddening. Out! For Reel has invited prominent community leaders who are lesbian/gay to speak about having successful careers and being publicly out. This short program is designed to encourage LGBT youth and offer inspiring role models. Speakers include Amherst College President Biddy Martin, Senator Stan Rosenberg, Northampton Police Detective Lt. Ken Watson, Dr. Kathleen McGraw, Medical Director, Baystate Franklin Medical Center, and Pride Parade Coordinators Bear and Cid White.

It’s a wonderful, heartwarming story that shows how the power of love can overcome judgment and homophobia and heal a family. In her best screen performance since “Serial Mom”, Turner shines brilliantly in this role.
