“The Perfect Family” is a funny, heartwarming comedy about a devout Catholic woman, Eileen, (Kathleen Turner) who wants to win the coveted Catholic woman of the year award but she will have to lie about her family to the bishop to make them “perfect” in the eyes of the church. Her daughter is an out pregnant lesbian (Emily Deschanel) who is about to marry her life partner (Angelique Cabral) and her son (Jason Ritter) wants a divorce and is having an affair. Will Eileen alienate and forsake her entire family just to win the award? Her struggle between her faith and the love for her family is both poignant and maddening. A laugh out loud, insightful story that shows how the power of love can heal a family and overcome judgment and homophobia. “Kathleen Turner has one of her best screen roles in years…” The Hollywood Reporter

The Perfect Family is a funny, uplifting comedy about a devout Catholic woman (Kathleen Turner) who struggles to find a balance between her faith and accepting how her family members live their lives, especially her outspoken pregnant lesbian vegetarian daughter (Emily Deschanel) who is planning to marry her life partner. It’s a wonderful, heartwarming story that shows how the power of love can overcome judgment and homophobia and heal a family. In her best screen performance since “Serial Mom”, Turner shines brilliantly in this role.
